Waxing
Hair waxing involves applying warm wax to the skin, which then hardens and grips hair tightly, so it’s pulled out from the root as the wax strip is removed. Wax can be applied to large or small areas, making it ideal for any part of the face or body where you have unwanted hair growth. Waxing leaves the skin soft and smooth, because it provides indirect exfoliation and peels away dead skin and oils from the surface. After hair is removed, the skin is treated with a soothing moisturizer to calm and soften the skin. At El Con Health and Wellness, we use all-natural wax formulations that are gentle on the skin and cause no adverse effects or lasting irritation. However, you may feel some brief discomfort during the waxing treatment—typically waxing becomes more tolerable as you do it more often.
Hair waxing is recommended at intervals of about 6-8 weeks, depending on the rate of your hair growth. You do need to have enough growth for the wax to grip onto, so the hair can be effectively removed.
